Á La Mode

I used to put my fingers in my ears
And sing la la to all you had to say,
Your point of view I could not stand to hear,
Shaking my head I just moved on my way;
But I’ve become more intolerant since
So now I must not allow you to speak;
Your inconsiderate words cause offense
To those like me: sensitive, tender, weak.
How dare you share alternate points of view
When what I believe is clearly right;
Don't contradict me with evidence new
That’s really an unnecessary fright.
We’ll start with shouting you down and speech codes
Just suppress freedom - the new á la mode
