Another Chance

I’m walking beneath midnight skies
Looking for a shore
A sanctuary city
A place I’ve never been before

Where open arms will welcome me
No matter who I’ve been
Where the love of a woman embraces me
And I feel at home again

‘Cause I can’t fix the things I’ve broke
No matter how I try
And second chances are rare things
They’re in short supply

And her tears that fed the river
Have all floated to the sea
And retrieving the sadness that went with them’s
An impossibility

So I’m looking for a new star
One to point the way
To another chance at happiness
I’ll try not to throw away
