The Inquisitors leapt into action;
The skeptic, the tribunal must dispose
For denial of the sacred canon.
His retraction they easily compelled
Through lies, intimidation, public shame;
The threat to the dogma quickly repelled -
Instilling fear, they achieve their vile aim.
Censors carefully prevent contrary
Texts from entering the public domain,
Observational inconsistency
Hid; unsoiled sacred doctrine must remain.
