Details Do Not Come Easily

Details do not come easily to me
But when shown a photograph it astounds
How past events come to mind vividly
And memories that hid themselves come ‘round.
Not only the thought but the emotion
Surfaces; our hearts flutter, faces flush,
Smiles grow, eyes tear in near devotion
As back to that special moment we rush.
We have pictures of our twenty-one years
That take us back to those cherished moments;
Times we don’t want to forget, times so dear;
Of our love they stand as testament.
These pictures are but preface and prelude
Of eternity ahead for us two.
