There's a coolness in the air
It’s the coming on of fall
I'm sitting here thinking about you
Do you ever think of me at all
We’ve all got to move on
Can’t stay in one place or we’ll stall
I get it, I’m not complaining
I guess I wasn’t ready, that’s all
I see lots of craziness in this world
Sometimes I just feel so small
Holding you always felt safe
So few would catch my fall
If you were to see my tears
I’m sure I’d hear your soft drawl
“Get up, boy, why you sittin’ there
What’s the matter with y’all”
But getting up requires too much
Like runners hitting “the wall”
I guess it’s like starting over
Before I can walk, I’ve got to crawl
So give me another second
Then the leaves’ll start to fall
And I’ll be on my way but wonder
Do you ever think of me at all
