When I went to bed last night
I had one thing on my mind
Gettin’ on that bull again
And doin’ it one more time
Steppin’ on his back
As he’s locked there in the chute
Slowly slidin’ down his flank
Straddlin’ with my boots
Strappin’ that rosined wrap
Securely round my hand
Gettin’ ready for a ride
In a familiar but unknown land
‘Cause every ride is different
Yet it’s still the same
I guess that’s why I keep playin’
This crazy insane game
And I can’t explain to no one
The feeling that you feel
When the chute opens up
And you give that bull the heel
They tell you not to ride the bull
But to ride the buck
But when he kicks and spins
I just say “good luck”
And that wise old advice -
“Lose your feet, lose your seat”
Is awful hard to focus on
When that bull gives a leap
Sometimes I don’t want to make it
All the way to eight
Bein’ thrown’s part of the thrill
Man it’s really great
And when the ride is over
And I’m sitting on the fence
I’m starin’ at the bull and wonderin’
When I’ll ride again
And when I’m in my bed at night
I’ll have one thing on my mind
Gettin’ on that bull again
And doin’ it one more time
