Pictures; digital flashes
The moment passes
From view in seconds
Back to that time it beckons
The family is all there
Came in from everywhere
To say goodbye to Dad
Grateful for the years we had
To one home we gather
There we are, all together
Laughing, remembering
Loving, reminiscing
I sit by my older sister
Living far away, I’ve missed her
I’m leaning in, don’t recall why
A mischievous gleam’s in her eye
Her zany antics tickle me
I’m glad she seems so happy
When this day comes to its end
I wonder when I’ll see her again
That was over eight years ago
Time flies, I get it, I know
That was the last I saw of her
She passed away within the year
Then as I watched the pictures there
I thought, we’re mostly unaware
That tomorrow really could
Be when we breath our last for good
