Practicing Dylan

Think believe dream and dare
Words to tie you down and ensnare
You in the meaningful morning's glare
Fooling you into believing people care
Whether you exist but it's just a dare
Like gambler's dice thrown in the alley

Sunshine in your heart slows down
Frightened children run from clowns
Looking for scapegoats to chase from town
Don't care whether they're black or brown
Sacrificing integrity for renown
Just another day from D.C. To Cali

Saxophones blow front yard flowers
Flames crawl up the Eiffel Tower
Executions in bucolic bowers
Culture's cops will make you cower
Until you submit to those in power
The mountain is now a valley

Don't normalize a perceived threat
Too much is at stake to lose this bet
Within sight is the grand finale
