I have weathered the storms of mortal life
And I won’t lie they have taken a toll,
Through moments of stress and moments of strife
It has been no laid back, leisurely stroll;
There were times when I wanted to give in,
For me the burden was too great to carry,
But through luck and God I managed to win,
That is, I’m still on this earth to tarry;
And now the gales of my life they still do rage
Yet I come home to a peaceful harbor,
To comfort in your arms, in your embrace,
To the love filled warmth of your love’s ardor;
And now my life has moored on a safe shore
And it is you my love whom I adore.October 1993
