Wake Exhausted

Wake exhausted after eight hours of sleep,
Getting out of bed requires courage;
Wearing a face for the faces you meet -
A system designed for greatest drainage.
Sojourning amongst my own in disguise
Though recognized, feeling a counterfeit;
Wondering if hiding like this is wise,
Not knowing how to free myself from it.
Living with my mind appropriated:
It's a shell some hermit crab made his own;
Not enough will, feeling enervated,
No power to evict him from my home.
Feeling like a vagabond, an exile,
No place to rest my weariness awhile.
