What Else Could Be Said

The Politician Preacher prevaricates in a sweltering June
Mister Megaphone in cap 'n bells joins the happy tune
"Deliverance is coming, it's nigh, it'll be here soon
Ignore the stench of dying bones in the snow white tomb"
Dividing up two-by-two the horizon turns blue and red
Silently we look at each other; what else could be said?

The Prophet in the prison temple can't stand at full height
Mister Megaphone in cap 'n bells signals extreme fright
"Avert your eyes from the hunchback in the cave at midnight
He's a madman who will blind you with the day's sunlight"
One with braceleted arms wonders, "Should I get out of bed?"
Silently we look at each other; what else could be said?

In the violent darkness floods rise encompassing the altar
Standing on a ship's deck is Megaphone and the Preacher
In faith they lift the offering, the beloved sacrifice,
To the mirrored god they act not stopping to think twice
And in a prison temple the Prophet is killed dead
Silently we look at each other; what else could be said?
