When I Gaze Into Your Beautiful Face

When I gaze into your beautiful face
At night as you slowly drift off to sleep
In my mind’s hopeful eye I etch and trace
A picture that I will forever keep
Of a lovely princess, with features soft,
And silky black hair flowing gently ‘round,
And wonder in awe as I do so oft’
How such rare beauty could ever be found.
Yet there you lie, a true sleeping beauty;
A charming, winsome fairy tale to tell
Of a girl who doesn’t yet see clearly
The royalty that within her heart dwells.
O may magic your paths accompany
And helpful fairies guide your destiny.
