If North Should No Longer Prove True

If the North Star should no longer prove true
And sailors sick for home should lose their way
While navigating the vast ocean blue
Not able to guide their helm to the bay;
If gravity’s pull should finally fail
And the ocean’s tide should cease and stand still,
No matter how we lift voices to rail
We could not bring it back by force of will;
Yet would thy resolute heart remain true
And thy infinite love would never fail;
Each day we would see our pure love renew;
Against all odds we would ever prevail;
For the things of this world will surely pass,
But our eternal love will ever last.
